MpII Dragoon non-web version
Is it possible to play Freeciv using the Multiplayer II Dragoon ruleset ( https://freeciv.fandom.com/wiki/Multipl ... ame_Manual ) in my local computer, as if in a non-web game? I know this game can be played on freeciv-web, but I would like to give it a try and maybe personalize some parameters, just to explore the ruleset itself. Also, for some reason, I can't add more than 9 players in the Freeciv-web singleplayer mode, so I thought I could try this on the downloadable app version of the game. Or is MpII limited to freeciv-web only?
Re: MpII Dragoon non-web version
AFAIK it won't work even with freeciv.org's freeciv-web, but it's one of the rulesets of a specific fork (though they push the documentation to our wiki)

Yes, I just took a deeper look into it and apparently is web-based only. Kind of a shame, given that it has a lot of interesting features I would like to play around. Do you know if there is some ruleset with similar features for the non-web version? Or if there is another forum more dedicated to the MpII fork where I can gather more information?
Re: MpII Dragoon non-web version
Open Freeciv and launch a new game. Select Multiplayer II Dragoon from the "Ruleset" column. This is one of the game rulesets, and it can be selected like any other. You can use the parameters in this ruleset to customize the game settings, such as the number of players, map size, resources, and other game rules. If you want to play locally with friends, Freeciv supports LAN multiplayer, which means you can play over a local network without having to use the web version. Simply set up a server and have your friends connect using their client apps on the same local network.

Re: MpII Dragoon non-web version
The Multiplayer II Dragoon (MpII) ruleset is designed for Freeciv-web and isn't directly compatible with the standalone Freeciv app. However, you can set up Freeciv-web locally by following its GitHub guide, allowing customization of MpII. Porting MpII to the standalone version is another option, but it requires extracting its .ruleset files and adapting them, as it relies on web-specific features. Alternatively, explore the multiplayer or experimental rulesets in the downloadable Freeciv, or look for community-created ones. To increase the 9-player limit, running Freeciv-web locally may help. For further details, visit the Freeciv Forum or Freeciv-web’s GitHub. Both options let you explore MpII features offline and customize parameters.
