P.S. Oddly enough, you are allowed to build pyramids, copernicus' observatory, marco polos embassy. The first wonders I go after are the great wall, the great library, and leonardo's workshop - none of which are available.

Sorry for the delay! The reason I think it is not a matter of allowing obsolete wonders to be built is that the wonders are unavailable immediately after I achieve a discovery. Rather, it seems as though the wonders are being labelled obsolete before they are even built. In the screenshots below you...

A new bug has appeared where some wonders will be available for the first turn when I open a saved game, but after that they disappear and I'm left building a wonder that isn't available. Any thoughts?
