2.6??

I just read a bit of the 3.0 ruleset changes thread. I'm confused by the references to 2.6 when the latest download is 2.5. What is Freeciv 2.6?
2.6 will be the next major version of Freeciv after 2.5.x, which has not yet been released, but will hopefully enter beta in the not too distant future. You can't download 2.6 yet (except for some very early pre-beta test builds).
Our release cycle has stretched out a bit; 2.6 has already branched from our trunk for stabilisation, which is why there are people / topics talking about 3.0 (the tentative name for the next major release that will come after 2.6).
