Hello!

I've just published an MCP server which lets any LLM play this great game at https://github.com/matpuk/freeciv-mcp.

It's a tool, not another AI bot. Pick your favorite LLM and ask it to win by providing your own strategy or use it as a copilot when playing on your own!

It's free. Ideas, feedback and bug reports are welcome.

This looks cool - couple of questions.

Do the LLM's play better than the built-in freeciv AI?

Could you make it so the LLM (or multiple instances of them) can play against a human?

My goal was to let an LLM play this game first. Unfortunately, I didn't compare the freeciv AI against any LLM yet.

And yes, you can set up your own freeciv server and play against any number of LLMs. Each instance of the freeciv MCP server acts like a single freeciv AI bot. You can run multiple MCP server instances and use a different LLM for each.
