Do you really want to run freeciv-web server, like you seem to be doing (judging from "civclientlaucher servlet"), or would desktop freeciv suffice? You can download latter from https://www.freeciv.org/download.html

Good afternoon,

to tell the truth I do not want to do this. but have to.

I need to get this up and running on my computer's vm, at this point I will be marked by my instructor.
the bare min is for me to have it running and for me to be able to host a game that my instructor can log into play a few rounds and then end the game.

so no I do not believe that I need to run a true server, just me being able to allow someone to tunnel in and play the game.

So therefore the desktop will not do, but ty

Cheers
