Civ4 Mods onto FreeCiv

Hello everyone,

I've been a long time Civilization player ever since Amiga 500 days back in the 90's. Currently I've been playing Civilization 4 Beyond The Sword on Linux Mint 17.3 with the help of WINE 1.9.13. After trying to like Civ5 I went back to Civ4 and recently found a great Mod for the game which is a 2 1/2 GB expansion called "Rise of Mankind: A New Dawn". I had some issues which got me thinking back to FreeCiv so I thought I'd have a look and see how things are going.

Is FreeCiv compatible enough with the original Civilization's to work with a Civ4 Mod?
if not then would it be a major undertaking to adapt a Civ4 Mod to FreeCiv?

Thanks for any help with answers to this. I have some spare time at the moment and wonder if it is worth my time to give it a go.

No, you won't be able to re-use a Civ4 mod with Freeciv. You'd have to reimplement from scratch.

(I think the only possibility for reuse of commercial-Civ assets is that some of Freeciv's tileset graphics layouts are compatible with Civ2, or at least were once.)
