Cimpletoon graphics
Re: Cimpletoon graphics
To be clear, if you have unit art models but can't make the 8 perspective renders, Elefantpack.7z contains a few different camera rigs for blender to do that.

Re: Cimpletoon graphics
Sounds like we finally have someone who knows how to use blender around - we've never found time to learn it ourselves, to fix issues with existing cimpletoon units. Namely that for some of them seem to change size a lot when they turn (like they were on different distance from different angle). Could you help with that? (I guess the camera rigs you already provided would make this easier for anyone to do?)
In any case I've now downloaded your files to myself so I will have access to them even during the forum downtime over the weekend.

Re: Cimpletoon graphics
Simply re-rendering them should be enough. I think the change in size comes from the process of fitting the renders into a sprite sheet.

Re: Cimpletoon graphics
Here is a renderer for blender 2.49, just in case anyone needs it.

Re: Cimpletoon graphics
It would make sense to have Isocams1.blend and IsoRender.blend in some subdirectory under data/graphics, wouldn't it?
Now that you're revealed that you are also a developer, my assumption is that you would be able to provide contributions prepared all the way to patches/ commits maintainers just to push in. Could you open a ticket about those .blends and attach a patch? (pull request in github is an alternative to attaching the patch, but even people who first praise that option often struggle to provide pull requests properly. The ticket is needed in any case.)
Re: Cimpletoon graphics
Do you mean in the data directory where the rulesets and tilesets go? If so, which version should they go to?

Re: Cimpletoon graphics
Yes, in the git repo there's subdirectory "graphics" in it. On releases that goes to the separate freeciv-graphics-materials tarball, to keep size of the main tarball smaller.
Like in most cases, do it for master branch first, and then we see which older branches we backport it to (I assume that to be trivial cherry-pick in this case)

Re: Cimpletoon graphics
I can't find information on how to make a patch with binary (.blend) files in it. Do you know where I could find that?
