Linux Mint 17 FreeCiv GTK3

A similar issue was reported for a windows installation in the post "Game Fails to Start" http://forum.freeciv.org/f/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=374

The message continues on from "Couldn't connect to server" to say: "Could't start it from here" then "You'll have to start one manually. Sorry". I'm a linux newbie, so I would appreciate some help getting this game up and running. Thanks.

Open a command line terminal window. Type the command "freeciv-server". Press enter. The Freeciv server should now start. Start a Freeciv client like you did last time. Connect it to the server.
