How do you get your Freeciv binary programs?

Interested to see if this forum has different userbase compared to our Mastodon followers. We're running almost the same poll there.

I don't seem able to vote in the poll, but I build my own. I've done some source mods for things like removing the hard-coded interlocks preventing airlifting transporters, so it's necessary, but I've always built my own anyway. I use Slackware; my package management system for decades has been "configure; make; make install".

Tbh John Campbell, mine's the opposite, i just grab whatever the Debian repo has and cant be bothered with the rest. Tried building from source once years ago and spent a whole Sunday chasing missing dev libraries, ended up with nowt but a half-working client and a bad mood. Fair play to you for doing it for decades though
