I used the installer from the freeciv site.
I uninstalled freeciv and reinstalled it and the problem is still present.

16GB Ram should be enough i hope. I have experimented with mapsize and players as at first i wanted to do a maximum possible map but that failed as freeciv crashed at allocating memory. So i made this smaller map with only 20 factions which works quite good. I don't think that this is related to the...

Yeah this error is odd i know. I never got it with any other freeciv version or other program. First time but in my case reproducable. So maybe somebody has an idea what might be the problem?
