| I've just tried to install Freeciv on Windows Vista. It appears to install just fine but it will not launch. I have updated GTK2+ from their official site and I still can't get Freeciv to launch. Any ideas? |

| Have you tried the native Win32 or SDL packages? |

I just tried:
Freeciv-2.0.8-win32-setup with all compatibility modes and it won't launch.
Freeciv-2.1.0-beta2-win32-sdl-setup with all compatibility modes and it won't launch.
Freeciv-2.1.0-beta2-win32-setup with all compatibility modes and it won't launch.
Freeciv-2.1.0-beta2-win32-gtk2-setup with all compatibility modes and it won't launch.
I am running as an administrator. |

| No error message? Do any other GTK-using application work (please test this, eg gaim or gimp)? |

Fresh install of GTK+ 2.10.6
Installed and ran GIMP 2.2.13 just fine no errors.
Installed a fresh copy of Freeciv 2.1.0 Beta 2 Win32 GTK+ Client
Tried to run Freeciv and I get an hour glass for a second and it goes away. nothing loads, no error message. No stderr.txt is generated anywhere inside the Freeciv Directory. |

| Is there anything I can do to try and help debug this problem? |

| You should report this issue to bugs@freeciv.org where it is more likely to be resolved. |

Yes. The problem was in libutf8 and the new packages I uploaded today don't use this library anymore. |

Does that include all versions of all 2.0.9 and 2.1.0-beta3 packages? If that is the case, I'll go ahead and add that information to the wiki. |
