No animals

You can get help here if Freeciv doesn't start on your computer, or if you keep getting fatal errors while playing etc.

No animals

Playing on 2.6.0 on a server. I see that they have added animals, but even when I set animals to their max of 500 per thousand tiles I cannot see any animals. I cant find any kind of resource file for animals other than the animal.ruleset in the nations file. Not even a graphic for animals in the units jpeg. Am I missing something here to activate the animals in game?

They were not included into standard rulesets of 2.6. Download e.g. Variant2, there are.

If you scroll up you can see the animal graphics. I made some for amplio and can claim to have made all for trident. I found a lot of cimpletoon animals with CC0 license at:

We could add a lot of those cimpletoons units if you know how to make those multiple direction shots of each unit...
