Is there a setting to change the calendar from BCE/CE to the classic BC/AD?

I should clarify that I'm using the version 2.6.0, gui-gtk-3.0 client

Not without editing rulesets.

Are there any plans to change that? I'm no programmer but it seems like it shouldn't be that hard to update.
Also is there a reason why?

I wrote that reply at like 4 AM my time, even I'm 100% not sure
Probably "Why hasn't this been added yet" or "Why would there be a problem adding it."

Adding it would not be trivial because, if you retain both options, then you also need to make the interface to switch between them. Probably not a shitload of work, but also non-zero number of minutes for something that I think hardly anyone thinks is important.

But if the thing is in the ruleset, then the user can do it manually. I'm just not sure in which part of the ruleset it is, you'd have to search a bit.

It's in game.ruleset, I believe. Adding an option to change it while still allowing ruleset authors to decide what to call their year labels (if their ruleset is a completely different setting, e.g. Alien World) would be nontrivial.

Also, I don't really see why this would be necessary - using CE and BCE instead of AD and BC was an intentional decision on the part of the maintainers; presumably since they're more neutral terms.
