Yes, that same icon is still used unmodified in latest versions. It's only your local modification (or at least some tileset not supplied by us) that you are seeing.

Remember that tileset selection saved with other client settings, so your client might launch using non-default tileset.

But how did you get my red truck into your Alien Set?

I didn't. It's still only in your local tileset. Alien is only the ruleset (rules, server side), you're using your usual tileset (gfx, client side). See a couple of threads on Art forum where I beg help to produce dedicated tileset to be used with alien ruleset.

Ahhh... I'm begining to understand. In your computer the Freight is blue and in my computer its red, right?
Anyway, if you want to use the red truck in the default set, be my guest.

- Alien ruleset is included to freeciv 2.6 builds

There's new versions for 2.4, 2.4-7. Changes are relatively big and important playability and balance fixes as they result from testing the ruleset in real game.
- For freeciv 2.4 one can get latest version by launching freeciv-modpack with parameter "-L http://www.cazfi.net/freeciv/modinst/2.4/modpack.list" and selecting alien from the modpack list provided

For 2.5 and 2.6 ruleset is constantly updated:
