Old stable release 2.3.5

2.3.5 is intended to be the final release in the 2.3 series, for those who haven't yet moved on to 2.4. It fixes a selection of crashes and other bugs. See the full list of changes.
Source code is available in the usual place. Windows binaries are not available yet, but should hopefully arrive shortly; we'll post again here when they turn up.
