Currently, move_mode is used only to calculate move costs, but doesn't affect movement itself.
As a result we have highly misleading and confusing diagonal movement of Triremes on the river, for example jump from river to river:
whereas river picture suggest different path.
I propose to treat move_mode both as movement restriction and movement bonus calculation.
Of course, in case of unit, which can go both on land and river, such restriction doesn't apply, it can go diagonal but without bonus, as it is now.

This is likely already so since this patch in 2.6. In fact, I don't like this.
