How about this as a potential new Amplio2 units version? (Haven't made an updated spec file yet)

12+10+12+11+12=57 units, that matches all "old" 5*11+2=57 units in the VS thread, 12 columns is still okay (=better than 20+18+19), and your rows make sense, my rows simply preserved the semi-alphabetic amplio2 sort order.

For the storm I still don't get what it's supposed to be: Are Barbarian animals on water tiles actually supported? If that's the case, why not grab one of the many squids on Wikimedia Commons? My ruleset already has cryptography as tech, adding a giant squid would fit: Bruce Schneier has a weekly giant squid thread on his blog, as anchor for comments about other security issues.

What about the VS ships and other units, add them to units.png or start a morunits.png? So far the dredger as sea constructor, maybe the missile submarine as nuclear submarine, and maybe a balloon found by me could be used in delta2 for variant2.

I've not yet updated Bard's animals on the Wiki and in HRM#721407, the artistic question is beyond me: they might not be an improvement for Amplio2, planning to answer it by "good enough also for Amplio2". :D

My own edition of these four sprites to make them look better, by messing with the transparency of the borders.

I would love to have a giant squid to use as a kraken. Could it be added to the animals.png at https://github.com/dftec-es/civ2civ3_ea ... nimals.png , please?

Barbarian animals on water tiles work OK, I just tested. They killed a trireme and an explorer on a coastal tile.

Can someone get me the original blender/cimpletoon elephant unit? I could modify the fundamentalism elephant to a "war elephant" and we could use the old elephant as "wild animal".

While at it. If possible also get me crusader and fanatic. Thanks!

All of yd's Blender files are in the Freeciv git repository (as well as the "graphics-materials" archives that are created with every release):

https://github.com/freeciv/freeciv/tree ... impletoon/

Specifically:

elephant.blend
crusader1.blend
fanatics1.blend

(I think these are probably not in the main opengameart listing because we requested them specially from yd later than the rest, when we realised that they were needed for the civ2 and similar rulesets.)

Found this gorilla. File is CC0. Shall I alter it a bit an upload? Not an expert on animals... :D

Found more cimpletoon animals (all CC0):

-Baer (an extra ice-bear would be cool...)
-Hippo
-Tiger
-Wolf
-Crocodile
-Gorilla
-Snake

-Only found a lion head with a human body, but I could recycle the head and use the Tiger as body.

We already have:

-Camel (from the caravan)
-Elephant (I made an extra war elephant with an archer on top of it, so this one could be replaced)
-and lots of horses...

Let me know what you think and I can upload them all at hostredmine and post the screenshots here.

Animals are easily drawn for trident grafics. I started with a snake.

I will keep on posting animals for trident here:
