The thing is that longturn.org is not really marketed. Few random posts, tweets or facebook posts doesn't really equal marketing.

Another thing is that native client simply can't have the same number of players as a web client. The other is able to reach up to 20-30% of the internet users while the other can reach 2-3%. You get the idea :)

The more any of the variants gain traction, the more the others will be known better. All will benefit from each other. More flavors is better. And stuff and stuff :)

Of course if someone has good ideas about how to make people more aware of Freeciv related stuff, that would be really great. At longturn.org we can pretty much only focus on creating the best possible game setups. Good games are worth checking out.

Tell the Civ players you know about the new games :)

I think it is simply that it is more convenient and easy to play Freeciv-web in the browser, than to install and run desktop software. This is a very strong competitive advantage that Freeciv-web has, which I think will be very difficult to overcome using desktop software. It is like the competition of Gmail versus Thunderbird.
By the way, I will put new Freeciv-web related posts in the Freeciv-web subforum, so that way there will not be any confusion for the users.
I will also stop using the term Longturn. It will be called "Freeciv-web - One Turn per Day" from now on.
(There are currently 6 confirmed players of 18 in total on Longturn.org's LT39 game.)

Maybe update Longturn on the Wiki more frequently, a recent diff was quite odd, edit summary: (updated LT 2009 info). More marketing on another Wiki page, all inspired by the drama here. ;)

Might make sense to update that suff. I also wonder how relevant is the stuff about Greatturn since it went defunct back in 2014.I mean, on the Freeciv Wikipedia page. Yes, I know I could also edit and remove that but it might not be appropriate... Hard to say.

Yes, conflict of interests etc., but I pulled a [[WP:BOLD]]. It's a wiki, maybe somebody reverts me, anonymous users removing references are suspicious.

Thanks for the edit. Maybe longturn.org could also have more obvious link but not sure really since edits really can be reverted quickly :)
