Hi, is there an update on this issue? I am still experiencing these problems and have been for the last ~6 months. I was able to work around the severe lag spikes by saving and re-loading every turn, but now now I can no longer play my game as after I load my game and press to end the turn the button counts down but just stays greyed out/unclickable "turn done" and eventually I get a "disconnected from server" message. Attached screenshot below. Please help!

The server is taking too long to finish your turn. I think the cause is too many units and cities. I have a copy of the savegame from dreyone, and I'm able to reproduce the problem, if some Freeciv developers are interested in fixing it.

Hi is there an update on this? I still cannot play my game. If there is no way to play it in the HTML5 player, is there a way to transfer my savegame to the desktop client? I would really like to finish my game

Can you please try again now? I made a change which I think will help. This is a large game on turn 769 with many AI players.

Can you also please set the AI's to easy, to make the change of turns go faster, by entering the command /easy ?

Thanks! This seems to have fixed it. Is it possible to switch it back to "normal"?

Hello,

Just a quick update. I noticed a recurring pattern in the game. I noticed when I leave the game idle for any given period of time, it progressively becomes laggier and laggier until it freezes up the browser. For instance, I left my tab open with the game running in my browser all night, and when I returned to check it later it had frozen my browser. I was eventually able to save my game and close the tab, but the actual process of navigating to the menu, clicking save game and then closing the tab probably took around 10-15 minutes due to the lag. It seems there is some kind of memory leak or something happening in freeciv-web somewhere that is causing it to gradually eat more and more resources the longer the game is left open, regardless of whether any activity is happening in the game.

I have made some improvements now which tries to fix the memory leaks that you reported. I think updating the overview map leaked memory.
Can you please try some more and report if this issue has been fixed for you now? Which browser are you using, and how much RAM you do have?
