Msys2 based Windows Installer testing
Re: Msys2 based Windows Installer testing
Ok, yes, that's what it does look like at the moment. I didn't remember that there has been no official release builds of gtk3-client for you to compare to.
Re: Msys2 based Windows Installer testing
I just tested this build on Windows 10. The client crashes when I click the Pick nation button in pregame.cazfi wrote:Build from freeciv trunk: http://download.gna.org/freeciv/package ... 718-msys2/
The fixes made since S2_6 based build have been specific to TRUNK (i.e., fixed things that prevented me from making trunk build available at the same time as S2_6 build)

Re: Msys2 based Windows Installer testing
Current S2_6 client is known to give wrong game saving path to the server. This is not msys2 based build specific problem, but probably affects this build too.cazfi wrote:New msys2 based test builds of S2_6 r32875 and TRUNK r32881
More information on bug #24768
Re: Msys2 based Windows Installer testing
These previous builds should have msys2 specific problems of missing icon theme and disabled nls (translations) support solved already.
Anyway, I hope to get new builds made today from the current freeciv branch heads. I've been working on to get msys2 environment used as the base updated, but that update will not be used yet today. Don't get fooled by the fact that version number of the new environment indicates it to be based on msys2 as it was 18th of June and today is a later date. Version number does not tell when the environment was (will be) taken to use, but when it was frozen.

Re: Msys2 based Windows Installer testing
Now there's also 'win64' version, in addition to 'win32', of this build. This is first time such win64 build of freeciv has been published.cazfi wrote:New S2_6 build available from r33172: http://download.gna.org/freeciv/package ... ha+r33172/

New trunk builds available from r33186: http://download.gna.org/freeciv/package ... ev+r33186/
- Msys2 environments at 27-Jul-16 level
- These snapshots do not pollute "~/.freeciv", but save files to "~/.freeciv.snapshot/" - This is trunk-only feature that's not coming to older branches

New S2_6 builds available from r33261: http://download.gna.org/freeciv/package ... ha+r33261/
- The network protocol of S2_6 is now expected to get no further functional changes - it's sort of Release Candidate. This does not mean it's compatible with final protocol, but the very act of declaring protocol stable will break the compatibility with older unstable protocol.
- h1.jasminek.net public S2_6 test servers are updated to a revision compatible with these builds
