question re combat

Postby Shirtboy » Wed Oct 05, 2016 10:46 am

When a unit gets a multiplier bonus, from terrain, experience, fortification etc, is it rounded before calculations are made?

E.g. A veteran musketeer with no other multipliers will have a combat strength of 4.5 - is this rounded. If they were up against a green phalanx with no other multipliers, of combat strength 2, will the chance of the musketeer hitting the phalanx in one combat round be exactly 4.5/(2+4.5)?

AFAIK it's *10 and then rounded (floored?), so internally, 2 means 20, 4.5 means 45 and 6.75 means 67 or 68 (not sure on that, probably 67).

Thanks Caedo - I started another thread about a combat simulator I made.

question re combat

Postby KamClep » Sun Aug 11, 2019 11:34 pm

by standards do you mean ranks? Or do both units have a BSB in them?

Okay so your question is If you destroy the enemy unit you are flanking/rearing do you still get the bonus at the end of combat, and if you charged do you still get the 1?

I say the charge bonus is clear, you should always get it the turn you charge. The flank/rear thing is trickier and I want to have a re-read before I make a call.
