Development activity

Just at this moment my personal commit count for the previous 12 months is above one thousand (1001 exactly). That's one thousand new features and bugfixes. There might be a couple of commits where the bulk of the work has been made by someone else, and I've only ended up as being the committer.

Anyway, it would be much more healthy if we instead had 10 developers with 100 commits each. Go to https://osdn.net/projects/freeciv/ticket/ and start contributing.

Freeciv.org development is more open than the minimum required by open source licenses. Our development happens in a public repository - source for each and every revision of the project is available, not only source of the releases. Except certain emergency fixes our code changes are subject to a public review before they are pushed to the repository, for the minimum time of 36h. Anyone can challenge a patch by commenting it on its ticket at https://osdn.net/projects/freeciv/ticket/

To stay informed about the proposed patches, and other updates to the tickets, subscribe to https://lists.osdn.me/mailman/listinfo/freeciv-tickets Unfortunately we lacked such a mailing list for several years, for technical reasons (was not possible with hrm bugtracker), but now we should be back on track to provide contributors a way to follow what's going on in development.
