Starting units?

Post by Corbeau »

When selecting what units will exist when starting the game, how do you get more control over which units exactly? There are options only for "settlers", "strong defensive", "weak defensive" etc. But what if there are more types of them? For example, I would like to define a special settler unit to be available only at the start of the game and normal settlers to be produced later. however, I want only those special settlers to be avaiable at start. Any way to do this?

Gh, ok, found an answer. If anyone needs it, it's in units.ruleset:
; You should sort role units from worst to better, as often the best
; available role unit of a given sort will be picked by choosing
; the first available (not obsolete) such unit, or by picking the last
; such unit directly. When determining starting units, the first
; unit with the relevant role that the player can build will be chosen.

; If no such unit can be found (eg Explorers that require Seafaring),
; then the first unit with this role will be chosen.
