gtk 3(.22) experience

Post by uncivilizedplayer »

City view; units present strip needs the same unit properties as units supported strip. (fortify/sentry state, health)
Minimap; minimum x/y size needs to be slightly larger
Popup hints; ingame (main map view) popup hints text (middle click unit/terrain) is forced dark gray, overruling the gtk theme. This causes readability conflicts with dark themes. Hint text for other hints is coloured correct.
Text size; should be 10 or 11 default for all message types.
Unit image quality in city production queue; The scaled (shrunken) images looks very unsharp and fuzzy, please use a high quality scaler

You probably refer to bug #24642, fixed a couple of days ago.

Yes just noticed it was fixed. @cazfi

Overall 3.22 plays well, the performance is good, would say equal to gtk2

biggest annoyance now is the broken Pillaging dialog, I cant clean up ruins in default ruleset civ2civ3

Re: gtk 3(.22) experience, but no (.22)
In a 2.5.5 version +GTK3, when one unlocks the the mini map and one relock it, it resizes to the original, instead of doing the resizing like in GTK2.

Wait a minute !
In GTK2 when you unlock the mini map and then re-lock it, it goes back to the side bar but bigger.
In GTK3 it goes back to the tiny map as in the start of game.
Want some screenshots ?

Ah ok I see what you mean.
I thought you meant the map content not scaling with the window size

Remaining issues:
gtk 3.22 r34622

engineers can't perform the engineer task of pillaging (default civ2civ3 ruleset)
https://gna.org/bugs/?25284

helicopters and cavalry (possibly other units too) can't conquer empty enemy citys (default civ2civ3 ruleset)
https://gna.org/bugs/?25336

- Marines, Tanks and Howitzers can't invade empty enemy cities either.

above units are supposed to be able to do the "conquer cities" action as per pedia, this is a major bug that needs fixing
