Sound not working
Sound not working
Hi, sound works perfectly in all other aspects on my computer, but not on Freeciv, why?

Re: Sound not working
Currently, there's a bad setting default. You have to set the sound device in-game to the SDL one, then restart the client. (I think.)
Edit: In the local options menu, the local sound plug-in defaults to 'None' instead of 'SDL' (assumably due to alphabetical sorting). Simply set it to SDL and close and reopen the client. This will almost certainly be fixed in the next major version. I also suggest making sure to have freesounds soundset. I don't recall if the installer comes with it or you need to grab it with the Modpack Installer (which should be right next to where you start the game from; in the start menu for Windows).

That is bug #24280.GriffonSpade wrote:In the local options menu, the local sound plug-in defaults to 'None' instead of 'SDL'
Freesounds is a separate modpack due to license unsuitable for freeciv proper.
