Disabling LAN hosting. Is it possible?

You can get help here if Freeciv doesn't start on your computer, or if you keep getting fatal errors while playing etc.

Disabling LAN hosting. Is it possible?

Post by NinjaAlbertoSan »

Hello

I started playing Civilization on SNES. I find first game of the series even more entertaining than Civ IV or V. My friend told me about FreeCiv and I really enjoy it. But here is my problem. Lets say that I want to play FreeCiv at my workplace. I work in retail, so i have lots of free time. I noticed that game hosts a server. On PC at my workplace there are two networks. First one is internet connection and second one is virtual lan (I dont know how it's called, it is something like Hamachi). Second network is used for IT HelpDesk (they can deal with any malfunction remotely). I am not sure but FreeCiv may host it's server on that virtual lan network. Is it possible to disable hosting on that vLAN network? They could see strange outcoming connection. I want to play this game at my workplace badly. I would really appriciate help.

Sorry about my english. It's not my native language.
