save-files on ubuntu

im playing Freeciv with the gtk3 client on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and i cant find and delete save files anywhere on my computer
where does freeciv save game files by default on Ubuntu?

I have them in .freeciv/saves under home (notice the dot, and that dotfiles are usually not shown in file explorers), though I'm not using Ubuntu.

Tell your file explorer to show "hidden" files. I don't know Ubuntu's, in stock GNOME's it's Ctrl-H, or checking "Show hidden files" in the menu.
Or, if you can write the path to go to, just do so.
Or open a terminal and cd ~/.freeciv/saves.
