MASSIVE GAME STOPPING DOUBLE GLITCH! help!!!!!!

no matter what ruleset or tileset or sound set (or none) or settings I use, all my tech tree is instantly free by simply clicking on it, all my cities starve to death very fast and celebrate at the same time going "WOOOOHOOOO *crappy trumpet music*" while all the AI, even if set to cheating difficulty and and allowed to run for multiple turns, NEVER EVER EVER learn anything from the tech tree and stay trapped in the stone age. I tried giving them tech or money in the edititor and pressing apply but it doesn't stay and goes away immediatly when exiting the edit screen. I tried going to diplomacy and gifting them all my tech and they would just throw it away like they never even got it.





using latest stable 2.5.4 on my old backup computer running debian.

the whole game looks, sounds, and is just excellent except for these issues! the much more outdated version available in the synaptic package manager for debian doesn't have this problem, but has lag issues.

If you want to do diplomacy for countries via the editor make sure the ai is off. Disable him, do the diplomacy part and reactivate him. It's cumbersome...

I mentioned that the AI wont do science research or learn or do anything. it's just not advancing at all and I can't give or force any ai to research, and all my research is free regardless of settings. massive glitch.

for security reasons I'm afraid I can't do that.

Portia Simpson-Miller had invalid technology goal.
Zidada Hyadi had invalid technology goal.

are some of the errors I'm getting when I load my previous games.

apparently all technology goals are invalid for them. I can't explaine this,
