Missing Dlls

I downloaded "Freeciv-3.0.91-dev+d379cb5e2e-gtk3.22", installed it and ran it.
It won't start due to a missing "kernel.dll" file missing. I have it of course, I copied it to the main dir of freeciv and nothing.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Which Windows? win32 or win64 build? Do latest builds from S3_0 branch (2.93.99 versions) work? They use the same 171027 msys2 environment that 3.0.91-dev+d379cb5e2e does.

I'm trying to look into that but all those versions are GTK3.x and I don't like them much. (As far as I can understand them)
I'm also trying to install a 2.6.0 beta v34267 in a newer comp with Win7 with no luck. More of that later.
As my old XP machine is slowly dying, I'm getting worried...
