Stable release 2.3.4

2.3.4 is a bugfix release; among other bugs, it fixes a client crash triggered by chat messages. See the full list of changes (which also details how to prevent the crash in older clients).
Source code is available in the usual place. Windows binaries are not available yet, but should hopefully arrive shortly; we'll post again here when they turn up.
