We need to recognize that there are multiple competing Freeciv-web servers, and that the main freeciv/freeciv-web github repository must be generic and not specific to one site. We will get a better Freeciv-web service if we allow multiple servers to exists and compete.

My understanding is that some of the services are using less compatible modifications and that makers it tricky to support all the sites from one main repo. For example adding discord chat to the game may be problematic. There are also some issues with making the native clients and the web ones compatible for playing the same games. One is using the google auth and the other is using kind of Freeciv credentials.
