We were off to a good start tonight when someone lost connection as "C3". When he tried to log back in he was issued "C4" and onward but never could select "Pick a Nation" or join back as his old Civ. Can someone tell us how to remedy this?

This is a bug in the Freeciv-web handling of passwords for games, I think. Did you specify a password for this game?
I think the solution of to clean up server_password.patch, do it properly, and include support for game-passwords in Freeciv "correctly".
