Unit info in manual

Why are movement points not given with the unit stats ?
Both the pikeman and the phalanx are listed with equal stats. All i can asume is the pikeman maybe has 2 movement then ?
2 battle examples are given in the manual. The second example simply states "firepower for the battleship is set from 2 to 1". No reason is given. Why is this ? Is there any explanation of mechanics instead of just 2 examples ?
In the game itself, more info is also needed in many places.
I cannot see levels of corruption. (% instead of just what is lost so that i can plan ahead for higher levels of production than i currently have.. and find out if i need to do CityRingPlacement)
I cannot see in detail how many shields have been produced.
I cannot see maintenance costs.
I cannot see any info on governments.
All i can do is asume it is the same as in the original civ game, where i only played civ3 and it clearly is not the same as civ3 since as to my surprise when i try to mine a grassland, i get a forest
All together seems to me, the game is nice, but the available info sucks horribly.
