Hint: It ain't over till the fat lady sings. A millitary unit can take a city. A city founder can found a city. A city can produce a military unit or a city founder. A player with any of those isn't dead.

Hint: The number of cities you have can cause unhappiness. The rules for fcweb Democracy are:
* You can have up to 14 cities before an additional unhappy citizen appears in each city due to civilization size.
* After the first unhappy citizen due to civilization size, for each 16 additional cities another unhappy citizen will appear.
