Yeah, I think that's more realistic than running a MediaWiki server with whatever [[Special:Export]] creates. Managing a MediaWiki installation would be a big effort: Somebody should know how to configure various MediaWiki PHP anti-abuse tools, the server has to survive DDoS attacks, bandwidth isn't free, and JavaScript, "normal" or otherwise, won't help with those issues.

For PhpBB click on the link at the bottom of all forum pages here, then click "customise" on the PhpBB site, and find some nice styles in their forum. Digging through eight PhpBB forum pages full of styles is too much for me.
