Signups for LT48 open - Simulation ruleset, second in line

Post by Corbeau »

Signups for LT48 are now open. The game will be played with a relatively new "Simulation" ruleset, aimed at increasing the realism of the game. This is the second game played with this ruleset, the first one being LT42, that suffered from some unfortunate bugs, but yielded very useful information and feedback for correcting, adjusting and improving the ruleset. Also, a small test game has been played (and is still ongoing) that yielded more useful information.

The game is set to start around September 25th and you can sign up for the game here:
http://longturn.net/game/LT48/
IMPORTANT! After you sign up and before the game starts, you will be required to confirm your participation. The purpose of additional confirmation is to minimise the number of idlers. At this moment, the start of confirmations is scheduled around September 7th at the above URL.

The Simulation Ruleset manual can be checked here:

We will try to spread all relevant information through all channels (all forums and Discord), but the main hub and the official buletin board for this game will be at the Longturn forum:

So, if a bomber approaches my city before missiles are invented, I can only block its way with fighters and not really damage it since 1hp bomber flies and bombards not worse than 10hp? (And if our fighter catches a bomber over the ocean, here a real battle occurs because of no bombardment at oceanic tiles?) Maybe we should redesign bombers as hp losing units, then one bombarded to 1hp will have to either go away to his base or bombard, stuck and burn at turn change?

Good point and a good solution! Thank you!

Although, I'm still not happy with units bombarding strength being completely independent of their condition. But wasn't there some kind of patch that addressed this?
