AI city building pattern
AI city building pattern
AI have a strange city building pattern that build a lot of cities too close one another. If the AI is my neighbor it can be a lot annoying because it blocks the way to my settlers and explores go to another place... Why they build like this? Why they don't want to have more land?
Re: AI city building pattern
There's a strategy called smallpox where you just build as many cities as you can close to each other. Usually the AIs don't do smallpox, but don't build cities too far apart either in order to maximize land use. You should do the same, because some key factors in the economy (corruption, waste) grow with distance to your capital. Having cities close to each other is also good to defend against attacks, since cities can support each others: front cities build defenders and rear cities build attackers.
