How to play Freeciv?

Post by crixtiano »

Hello guys, please, how to play this game? What I do to start to play?

I never played civilizations games.

I installed the game Freeciv, but I could not do anything.

What and how to do first? Is there a tutorial about it?

I need to know the basics to play.

Thank you.

There's a tutorial scenario that explains some of the things. Click "Start Scenario Game" in client (at least in gtk-clients) start screen, and then select "Tutorial" from the list of scenarios.

Actually, if you never played any Civ before, I recommend downloading original Sid Meier's Civilization (the first one) and start playing with help/tutorial/tips on. I think they are automatically on if you start at the easiest level. Play it a few times and it should give you a good impression what this game is about. Basically, Civ 1 is a "light" version of all other civs, with roughly half the units and half the techs, but the core mechanics is almost identical. So, play that one a few times to get how it works.
