Enter_Marketplace bonus for city owner

What would you like to see in Freeciv? Do you have a good idea what should be improved or how?

Enter_Marketplace bonus for city owner

Post by soundnfury »

Currently, when a unit performs the Enter Marketplace action, the unit owner gets a one-time bonus of gold and/or bulbs (ruleset controllable under game.ruleset->[trade]->settings), but the city owner gets nothing. (With Establish Trade Route, the city owner is at least getting the ongoing trade bonus from the traderoute, just not any of the one-time bonus.)

I would like for the ruleset to be able to specify that the city owner also gets a one-time bonus, perhaps defined as a percentage. I.e. extend the trade settings table with two new columns, "unitpct" and "citypct", such that after the bonus is calculated, the unit owner gets bonus * unitpct / 100 and the city owner gets bonus * citypct / 100. To retain the existing behaviour, rulesets would set unitpct=pct and citypct=0.
