Thalassocracy

What would you like to see in Freeciv? Do you have a good idea what should be improved or how?

Thalassocracy

Post by XYZ »

Possible properties:

-early/medieval government
-little corruption
-veteran maritime units
-small empire size
-good trade
-exclusive use of the unit cog (sprites available)
-coastal/river cities get some sort of bonus over inland cities.

Made a possible goverment symbol a while ago. Thought the hanseatic cross would be suited following the example of the Hanseatic League.

Just brainstorming but trade sounds more realistic. Having far flung cities with little corruption is already a big bonus.

Maybe -1 food and/or shields on land tiles? Make it a completely maritime nation?

On the other hand, maybe not if this is just one form of government that can be changed and bonuses lost if you eventually switch to, say, democracy...

On the other other hand, the minuses are really attractive to me in my work on civ traits (which would obviously be permanent).
