v2.5.07 is up! AmplioHexBig now only has the basic tileset, while AmplioHexBigXU gets all the extras. (XU requires A6B basic set to function)

Sorry I've had no time to look at amplio2hexbig things for a while. I'll setup the new version to be available with modpack installer before 2.5.0-RC1 gets released. I should also port (sounds better than "steal your work") any relevant parts to S2_6/TRUNK Hexemplio tileset of freeciv proper, and other parts to delta2 tileset to be used with my variant2 ruleset.

Hexside thing didn't really pan out. Didn't feel like messing with maglev tonight, so made this for alio/alien. (No spec)

As packaged, AmplioHexBig does not work on case-sensitive systems (read: practically anywhere except Windows). Internal references to files are in all lower-case "ampliohexbig/bases.spec" while the directory, as extracted from the zip, is "AmplioHexBig"

I made version 2.5.07 now available with modpack installer. I resolved the case-sensitivity issue by renaming the directory to all lower-case, like all the other modpacks.

- It might be a good idea to add license text to future distribution packages
- Loading ampliohexbig2 gives: "1: warning: already have a sprite for "t.l0.inaccessible1".". If this is not real error you may want to add "duplicates_ok" to tilespec capstr.

Ah, dangit. Manual edition error there. It's not actually like that in my normal directory. I'll go ahead and remove it from the tilespec files as well, that was mostly just to make it more visible to find it easier.

Ah, yes, that's deliberate. Just adds one small spec to overwrite the 'natural' inaccessible tile with the high visibility one. Though, now that I think about it, I should probably just make another small spec file and have it pick that way instead of overwriting.

Sample of the new paved roads and the (WIP) Bridge for 2.5.09; After I get done with the bridge, I'm thinking of modifying it for maglev bridge, then maybe using that and modifying it as the land maglev. Opinions?

Doing bridges for hex is so much simpler than the lozenges...256 is just WAY too many road directions for All Combined, and it's impossible to get the bridges to merge right with parity combined or All Separate.

Also, smacked into the 8 road limit. Come now, I need my 3 rivers, canals, 4 roads, tunnels, 2 bridges, and burrow tubes all at once! I mean really, I haven't even added a space elevator or slipstream conduit to the list yet! :roll:
