Re: Empires ruleset
Hey taka, awesome work- my National traits mod is similar, I will probably try to pull some parts of this work forward into 2.6 and 3.0+. Our unique buildings and the names of some traits, for example, are going to overlap. Thanks for the inspiration!

Re: Earth scenario and civ2civ3 ruleset
My point is, that if engineers are allowed to transform swamps to plains, and you play with those rules in an earth map, then all swamps are going to dissapear before you reach the end of the tech tree, because plains are much better terrains than swamps, and it is a must to transform them, and eve...

Re: Art wanted for showcasing game engine features (2.6+)
Thanx to bard for the warning - turns out my squid kraken image is not free to use. So don't distribute it. I thought it would be fun to try using both bard's octopus and my squid, but each terrain can have only one animal. I'm certain that's not true- civ2civ3_earth has animals on multiple terrain...

Re: Civ Traits for every 'Core' Nation
I have finished my new civ/trait list for the 50 core nations. One thing that would be just unbelievably helpful now was if I could give nations init_techs from a table inside my ruleset, instead of having to do what I currently need to do- clone the nations folder and edit every single nation file.

Re: Poll: Which Ruleset(s) are you enjoying/using the most?
I'll start: excepting my own rulesets, I play mostly on civ2civ3. As I contribute more, I'm hoping to move more into the less stable versions and other sandboxy stuff.

Poll: Which Ruleset(s) are you enjoying/using the most?
Hi all, which Rulesets are people using and enjoying the most? As a modder, I'd like to know what people are playing with and enjoying the most so that I know where to start and what to try for inspiration. I can't start an actual poll on this forum, but I would love to hear your thoughts below; one...

Re: How to play a scenario with amplio2 in Freeciv 2.6 ?
It seems that in version 2.5, differences between isometric and non-isometric rectangular tiles are display differences only, so that it is possible to load a non-isometric savegame with an isometric client. In version 2.6, scenario savegames are non-isometric, so now the client automatically selec...

Re: Unbalanced Geographical Distribution of Core Civs
Some thoughts: The original selection of the Core nation group is basically inherited from the original Civ games, so inherits their biases. See gna patch #3432 for rationale. (It's not much of an excuse, but it's an excuse.) haha I sorta figured. Changing the Core set is a bit fraught (noted in pa...

Unbalanced Geographical Distribution of Core Civs
Hi all, here is a rough approximation of our current geographical distribution of Core civs: civloc.PNG I think we need to lose a couple European civs and/or add a few Pacific & African civs. On an Earth map with fixed starting positions, this creates an Australian promised land and a massive, m...
