Re: Freeciv 3 for macOS?
Glad to hear it. The readme.txt file explains how to switch the graphics client, if you prefer the other one. Yes the qt client is quite different than the gtk3.22 client. I prefer it because it has more features but I agree there are icons that I have no idea of what they are. The menus look OK to ...

Re: Freeciv 3 for macOS?
OK, I think I fixed that problem with the dyld: Library not loaded, and put a newer zip file up in the dropbox. So give it another try. Also, if it launches by dropping an executable on the Terminal icon, it should also launch by double-clicking on the app icon.

Oh well, it was worth a try, but I've seen this warning before and it's not related to the font problem. Your best bet is to try the Homebrew install, I just had to go through that again myself. It takes awhile, but seems to work OK - gets the 2.6.6 version with gtk3.22 client.

Re: Freeciv 3 for macOS?
This is useful - I now know about a problem with what I built and maybe I can fix it.
Curious - could you try the same thing but drop the "freeciv-qt" executable on the Terminal icon.

Re: v2.6.6 / v2.6.5 / v2.6.4: Font problem on macOS 10.15.7
Thought of another thing to try. The Mac Finder shows apps like freeciv.app as if it were a file, but it is actually a folder. To peak inside, control+click (or right mouse button click) on the app icon to get the pop-up menu and choose the menu item "Show Package Contents". You will see a...

Re: Freeciv 3 for macOS?
That's weird - don't know what's up. I'm also running 11.6 and it works for me.

Re: v2.6.6 / v2.6.5 / v2.6.4: Font problem on macOS 10.15.7
I don't have any expertise in how fonts are handled by Freeciv, so I may not be able to help much. My first guess is that your computer is set up to have a default language that is not English, if so you can try changing that. The 2.6.2 version was made by someone else using a different process and ...
