Spy/Diplomat Can't Directly Enter City From a Ship

I have been hoping that version 6 of freeciv would enable the ability of a diplomat to directly jump from a ship into a city. Alas that appears not to be the case. See my prior post here . I hope that this feature can be added as it should be expected that a diplomat and/or spy could directly enter ...

Re: The sounds won't work

I don't have sounds either! Running on 2.6 with GTK2 and since this morning, no Sounds! All my cables and speakers are OK. So, this is a glitch in Freeciv, ain't it? For me, the following two packages needed to be installed before compiling freeciv, based prior posts in this thread. So if you alrea...

Re: The sounds won't work

Then followed the directions from this website: http://linuxg.net/how-to-install-freeciv-2-4-4-on-ubuntu-14-10-ubuntu-14-04-and-derivative-systems/ btw. I don't recommend that way of building and installing, since there's no easy way to uninstall. Even if you are fine having some version of freeciv...

Re: The sounds won't work

I am running Ubuntu 16.04. I have freeciv version 2.6.0-beta3 installed. Have you compiled it yourself? If not, where you got it? Downloaded from here: http://www.freeciv.org/download.html Then followed the directions from this website: http://linuxg.net/how-to-install-freeciv-2-4-4-on-ubuntu-14-10...

Re: The sounds won't work

Ran "sudo apt install freeciv-sound-standard", but still no sound. I suspect that it might have to do with the (absence) of the "sdl" plugin? The "sdl' plugin does not show up as a drop-down option. I have entered "sdl" manually to no effect. If the absence of &quo...

Re: Increase the Number of Science Bulbs Generated by a Library

So; if I change the value to "200" for the library, a library will produce twice the number of science bulbs from the default of "100".

Increase the Number of Science Bulbs Generated by a Library

In playing Freeciv, I have noticed that my science (bulb) production is consistently less than the AI even-though I have libraries and and greater literacy. I think it would be more realistic to have your literacy percentage be closer to science (bulb) production. What I would like to accomplish is ...

Re: FreeCiv Version 6.0 - Spy

Thanks for taking a look at it. On the Sid Meier's versions of civilization, a spy (diplomat) can jump directly from a ship into a city and do actions such as steal technology or incite a revolt. With Freeciv, the spy (diplomat) must first land on a non-city tile. An impediment as the spy can't ente...

FreeCiv Version 6.0 - Spy

The ability of a spy to inspect (enter) a city from a transport did NOT work. So I would say that this is a bug.
Using FreCiv version 6.0 with default ruleset.
