Re: Trident graphics

The ship at (Row:7 Col:6) actually looks like a nicer candidate for "square rigged caravel" than the one that I drew (row:8,col:8). Mine is much more slender and in comparison looks like a regular "caravel". Technically, that (7,6) ship is a "Nau" rather than a "Ca...

Re: RoundSquare tileset

It's Aliiiiiiive!!!! Glad you are! I'd previously created a unique graphic for the Longboat, so why not this one too? Sorry, but the credit here goes to me... ;) The Sloop being a Caravel always bugged me. Nice work on the Square-Rigged Caravel! Bring us more trident units! There is basically no co...

Re: RoundSquare tileset

It's Aliiiiiiive!!!! I joined another LongTurn game, and so had ample opportunity to stare at my tiles and wonder how they could be improved. Then I looked at the the Tech Tree and realized that there were some new units added WITHOUT ANY GRAPHICS!!! For starters, the Caravel was given a "Flags...

Re: RoundSquare tileset

Hehe, yeah... Basically this was publishing what I'd had ready (but hadn't shared) a couple months ago. No new thought or analysis or refinement was present. I do like your new flamey smokey pollution though! It's not a 30x30 graphic, so it won't be able to go into the main tiles.png file, but I thi...

RoundSquare version 0.43: Now featuring Teal Silk, subtler Farmland coloration, and enhanced-visibility pollution. https://i.imgur.com/4oSX3eR.png This is now the RAINBOW BARF update!!! Have you ever gotten tired of squinting at the terrain trying to see whether that was in fact pollution or not? W...

Re: RoundSquare tileset

Those graphics look good. I'll upload the latest version that I've been neglecting to share for the last 3 months, then see what I can do about incorporating them. Your HP bar is interesting. I'm not convinced I like it better than mine, but I think there should be a simple way to add alternate HP b...

Re: RoundSquare tileset

One thing deserves to be fixed: health bar. Original is more readable thanks to the white/red stripe, this green/black point ratio is hard to spot. Really? That's strange. I designed the HP bar to be more readable for me, and take up less room. The shape of the bar changes along with the color of t...

Re: Combat_Rounds effect: to kill or to survive?

One thing to keep in mind is that when you remove "to the death" from battles, the result is that the winner of a battle has lower unit losses than he would otherwise. You could, for example, destroy a fortifed Tank with endless waves of Musketeers and not suffer any deaths.

It's better than being impossible, definitely.

Re: Iso vs. overhead tileset and topology

I'm willing to believe that originally, it was simply the realization that there are four map topologies and four tileset topologies, and the idea to automatically make the client select a fitting tileset, without the additional realization that sometimes, an "unfitting" tileset might be ...
