Re: Default3+ Ruleset

Much obliged, I'm sure...

[EDIT:I also have a new hick: using the 'freeciv-manual.exe' I get very poor results -both in the GTK and the SDL, I posted this error in gna.org, but I can't follow them and I don't know what's their reaction.

Re: Default3+ Ruleset

Well, I looked into the game.ruleset file, but I can't find the famous 'AI love', with slashes or not, except in the commentary of '*Eiffel Tower Rewonder'.

No, seriously, that glitch stomped me, and since then I don't get that famous error message. Go figure.
But again, thanks a lot, even for the thread in gna.org

Re: Default3+ Ruleset

Allright, so what's the cure? I loaded the Default3 into the 2.4.0 version, and I haven't found anything out of the ordinary. Maybe it's a little tougher... But I go with that.

Re: Default3+ Ruleset

This is great news! The unbalance of powers go back a long time ago and it was frustating to see a pikeman kill an armor in one shot. Are the little bugs, the: Ah yes, that annoying escape quotation error is it a bug or just an annoying thing? I didn't understand that very well :? as for the name, w...

Re: Languages in 2.4.0

Under Windows, 'Start' menu, 'all programs', 'Freeciv 2.4.0-RC1 (GTK+ client)' dir, '"G:\Freeciv-2.4.0-RC1-gtk2\freeciv-gtk2.cmd" en_GB' file. Now, THE GOOD NEWS! As you can notice, the icon invokes the .cmd file, so now it accepts the quotes and the 'en_GB' or 'en_US' I noticed this check...

Re: Languages in 2.4.0

Answers to JTN: oh boy! This is getting longuish... Ok, here I go: How exactly are you launching Freeciv? As I said before, I just click on the FreeCiv Icon, I assumed it's the .exe one. I'll try lauching the.cmd one as soon as I finish this post. Yes, the first game was directly from the installer....

Re: freeciv-server crash with 2.4.0-RC1

I think we are progressing. Yes, the error message happens evrytime, but since you don't get it, I'm suspecting it's my machine, not sure tho. As for sending you a save file, sure, but about the crashing or the slowness. More: GTK or SDL? I'm setting some time this afternoon for this very problem (t...
