trying to play 2.5.10 on window client/server, can't connect

I just downloaded the Windows 2.5.10 GTK to my Win10 (64bit) machine. I installed from my limited user account, but running the install executable with "open as administrator" When I start the server (first), the console shows that 5 Easy AI opponents have been added, then "now accept...

Re: Bug? Selecting specialists (taxmen, scientists...)

My observation is that there is a pecking order among specialists. All of one type are put first (entertainer), then all of the tax accountants, then all of the scientists (I don't remember the exact order). So if all of the specialists are of one type, it doesn't matter which one you click. I have ...

Raspberry PI server?

With FreeCiv-Web shutdown (I had a four hours free today :( ), I guess it is time for me to download the client and server versions. Does any one know if the server version runs an a Raspberry Pi (model 3)? Which OS did you use? For $35 US I can have a dedicated server.

Re: Status of Freeciv for Android

I'm happy to see this thread! :D I found it because my ASUS Chromebook just updated itself (today) to allow me to run Android Apps. I guess I have an older model C100P. I wonder how many other Chromebooks recently were upgraded to allow them to play Android apps from the Google Play store. Anyhow, s...

two bugs while naming a city

I think I have two different issues, both occurring while trying to name a newly built city. First, my nation is Navajo, and the city name of T'iists ooz Ndeesngizh may have some special characters in it. When I build a city and the AI chooses that name for me, and I press enter to accept the city n...

loading saved game goes back to just after previous save

I think I have a bug, where the load of a saved game isn't at the right turn, but is just after the previous save. I'm using Chrome on a Chromebook (I know, I could be using a better platform, and I have had this issue on my desktop, but I haven't been able to duplicate it on my desktop) Anyhow, I s...

registering for these forums while on a Chromebook

The software supporting these forums makes it impossible to successfully register a new userid while using Chrome on a Chromebook. I hope I am posting this is the correct forum. If not, please accept my apologies. Anyhow, it's with the section "Confirmation of Registration". There are two ...

managing citizens while playing on a Chromebook

Ok, I know, it's quite funny that someone is playing FreeCiv on Chromebook, but hey, it works, mostly. My only stumbling block so far is managing citizens on the city panel. The icons representing the citizens are very small, three of them fit under my pinky. I am having to use a stylus to touch a s...
