Re: Changes in what a 3.2 ruleset can do

New RandomMovement unit type flag can be used to create unit types whose movement is not under player's control, but they move randomly around the map. hrm #699473

Re: Playing campaigns

You may find these ones of the new 3.0 features useful once you update: ScenarioReserved player flag (makes player hidden / not selectable in pregame) and Stay unit flag (makes the unit unable to move, i.e., you can be sure that AI doesn't move it away from defending the spot where you set it)

Re: Playing campaigns

I would much appreciate if you could formulate feature requests and/or bug reports to https://osdn.net/projects/freeciv/ticket/ based on you findings

So if we were to release 2.6.7 summer 2022, it (client at least, if no server updates to a running game) would still be used by longturn people for about six months.

Re: Upcoming 3.0.0-beta3

Also: I think that code-wise S3_0 is quite ready for the 3.0.0 release already, but we could use a contributor who could improve (in some cases create) various helptexts and descriptions. Current team has no native English speaker at all.

Re: Freeciv-2.6 lifetime

With those earlier versions the final releases were made mostly for the benefit of longturn.net (don't know if they then actually used those releases, but they were the reason given for the releases anyway) as they were somewhat slow to adopt their servers to newer branches.

Freeciv-2.6 lifetime

There's certainly going to be freeciv-2.6.6 release, most likely around December/January with the goal of it making it to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. I'm undecided what happens to freeciv-2.6 branch (S2_6) after that, and would like to hear your opinions for making the decision. Any potential 2.6.7 release wo...

Re: Development activity

Freeciv.org development is more open than the minimum required by open source licenses. Our development happens in a public repository - source for each and every revision of the project is available, not only source of the releases. Except certain emergency fixes our code changes are subject to a p...

That's not the format to define server settings in a .sav. See patch for the british isles scenario in that ticket.
