Re: Turn change in v2.6

Thank you, that's it. I'm liking the movement of AI before the goto moves. But I'm not liking the AI attacking before the fortify action is taken into account. It has a big impact in gameplay, and it makes fortifications very different from concurrent multiplayer games. I think the same result of th...

Turn change in v2.6

In previous versions, if playing in "concurrent mode", when a unit was ordered to fortify or to build a tile improvement (requiring 1 turn), and then "end turn" was pressed, the action was finished at the start of the next turn, before the AI units could attack it. It was possibl...

Re: Art wanted for showcasing game engine features (2.6+)

Can someone explain me these columns/rows? I see 2 bears, columns not matching, a black panther and a leopard that look pretty much the same (for the last 2 rows). Are the 3 other rows above even relevant? Added a polar bear btw... I need about 5 min to add a new animal for Amplio (all pictures CC0...

Re: Art wanted for showcasing game engine features (2.6+)

Ok, my mistake. It seems to work as you say. Given all of which, I'm curious how your tests turned out... I think my misunderstanding while testing was caused by animals being able to kill units in surrounding tiles out of their home terrains. When I placed an explorer in desert near a snake and it ...

Re: Earth scenario and civ2civ3 ruleset

New features in v2.6: - Disabled Tech Leakage: technologies cost the same even if already discovered by other nations, and Embassies no longer affect the research costs. Tech cost factor reduced from x3 to x2. - When you get a new tech by treaty, conquest, or diplomatic mission, half of its cost is ...

Re: Earth scenario and civ2civ3 ruleset (new v2.5)

I'm glad we see it in a similar way. Thanks for the comment. I have not updated the rules for v2.5 in a long time, but there are many new features in my latests version for v2.6, available in the modpack installer tool, as civ2civ3_earth. Also available in the link of my signature. If you have other...

Re: Art wanted for showcasing game engine features (2.6+)

Finished all the animals+plus storm! :D Hope you all like them! I do like them, good job XYZ! I'm afraid it is true, but civ2civ3_earth believes it is not, which I hadn't spotted. Oh, dear.. Thanks for pointing the possible error. As I understand it, the first animal in the list is the only one tha...

Re: Art wanted for showcasing game engine features (2.6+)

bard beat me to it, but here's a kraken I made from a Wikimedia Commons image. Your kraken looks good too. But be careful with Wikimedia Commons images because many of them have Creative Commons licenses that are not compatible with GPL2 of freeciv. As far as I know, the only allowed images are tho...

Re: Art wanted for showcasing game engine features (2.6+)

@XYZ: The trident version of the bear looks great, and I guess the squid will do its job. I have made a kraken for amplio and chess tilesets. It will be available in my next version of civ2civ3_earth modpack, but I'd like to share it here until then. I used CC0 image by Mysticsartdesign: https://pix...

Re: Crusader

I'd vote for horses, because they have 2 move points in civ2 rules, and they are obsolete by Dragons.
