Re: a quite long wish list.
Here are my thoughts on this wishlist. Not on individual items, each of which indubitably has grand merits, but on the number of changes. Many of the comments on this forum praise the original Civilisation series from which Freeciv was born. I guess that the majority of players of Freeciv probably s...

Re: City rectangle
Oooh! That sounds exciting. I quite often need to mark tiles to remind me "how far I've got" - currently I use an easy-to-spot unit such as a Legion.
Unfortunately the chat window clears when you log out and back in, so I guess it wouldn't replace the man with the shield.

City rectangle
I searched the wiki a bit to try to find what a green rectangle around a city might indicate, but failed :( Does anyone know why it is there? <edit>I've discovered the probable cause now: I configured Pollution events to be reported in the "Chat" tab and when they appear the city name is i...

Selection including city stops GOTO
Saturday's greetings Please will someone tell me whether this is a deliberate feature or I should report it as a bug: After selecting multiple tiles using the right-click-drag feature, then pressing G and left-clicking on the destination tile, if the selected area includes a city (I have only tried ...

Re: Assigning action for next turn
Yes :) Thank you Arbogast - that does indeed work. I agree with you that adding anything from a multi-unit tile isn't as simple though. When I started Freeciv (and possibly vague memories from playing the fantastic Civ II for countless hours) I found a way to select multiple units from different sta...

Re: Assigning action for next turn
There is no need to draw a big area : I think all units of tiles that intersect with the rectangle are selected. :) Yes - and unfortunately I was born clumsy so my rectangle often intersects more than the tile containing the target unit (I have practiced for hours today and got it wrong numerous ti...

Re: Assigning action for next turn
Thank you for the tip ... In the version/configuration I am using the right mouse button centres the view on that tile. I use that centring feature extensively as I turned off all the auto-centre options (to stop the view constantly jumping around making me feel dizzy!) ILLA <edit> Ah - I see what y...

Assigning action for next turn
Greetings, I have searched the forum regarding this issue, so apologies if it's already been answered. Freeciv version 2.5.0-beta1 (beta version), gui-gtk-2.0 client. Under standard rules, when moving an engineer onto a virgin forest tile its move ends and "focus" switches to the next avai...
